Students interested in law enforcement are reminded that the next Explorer Post meeting is Tuesday evening, December 10th at 7:00 p.m. at the Williamson County Sheriff’s office.

In the spirit of Christmas, we will be having a Christmas Door Competition this week. All Enrichment classes can decorate their door every day up until Tuesday, December 17th. On Tuesday during Enrichment, the doors will be judged and the winner will get a Pizza party when we return from break. The only rules to follow is you must keep all decorations on the door, not going into the hallway and keep it school appropriate. If you have any questions, come ask Mrs. McBride or Mrs. Ryker.
There is a meeting for any girls interested in playing softball this year on Monday, December 9th at 4:00 in the commons. Meeting is mandatory if you are wanting to play softball.
Auditions for the spring play have been set for this Wednesday after school in room 115. See Mrs. Patrick for the audition form. Please prepare a :30-:60 second monologue. You will also read from the actual scripts.
Students, did you know that for just 15 PBIS points, you can get a $5 Casey’s gift card which is good for gasoline and food? See Mrs. Patrick to cash in some points for this card. Only three remain.
Blood Drive registration will be during both lunches this week and next week. Students must pre-register if they wish to donate blood at our Winter Blood Drive which will be held on December 27th. Also, students who are 16 years of age must have a parental permission form signed and returned in order to donate. Please remember you must have an ID with you. We are not in school that day so you will not be able to get one in the office!

John A. Logan College is hosting a writing competition for stories, poems, essays, and scripts. There is also a scholarship competition that requires a small writing portfolio. Entries are due to your English teachers by January 10th. See any English teacher for entry details!

Students who are sophomores through seniors and have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher and are interested in applying for the George R Kee Chapter of the National Honor Society, please pick up an application in room 113. Applications are to be returned after Christmas break on January 6.
Students, we will be collecting plastic bottle caps to make a bench in memory of JCHS student Holly Smith. It takes 100 pounds of plastic and $200 to have this bench made, we are asking students to donate $1.00 and all the caps you can!! Thank you for your help!

If you are taking Psychology next semester, please check your school email for textbook information. You will need to purchase your own textbook for the class and have it when second semester starts. See Mrs. Rabideau if you have questions.
All visitors will need to present a government issued id to enter the building. The id will be scanned into the Raptor system to checked for comparison with a national database of registered sex offenders.
A visitor's badge will not be necessary for those who visit our schools simply to drop off an item in the office or pick up paperwork.
