Hello everyone! My name is Chelsy Yates and I am proud to say that I am a graduate of Johnston City schools. It is great to be teaching in the district that helped shape me into the person that I am today. 

 This is my third year teaching at Washington Middle School. I taught 8 years in Galatia before I came to work here. I  taught first grade, fifth grade, and sixth grade at my previous school and now I am lucky enough to teach 6th and 7th grade Reading in Johnston City.

 I am married to a wonderful man, Ryan Yates, and together we have a three year old son named Brandon. We also have two dogs, Bella and Jasmine. 

 In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. But, my favorite place to spend my time would be at the ocean.

 I believe that to be successful, teachers and parents should work together to help their students learn and grow.
