Beginning Monday, October 19th all In-Person students will attend Monday through Thursday, with distance learning taking place on Friday. We will continue to follow our current schedule at each school.
We will continue to follow our “Return to School” plan’s safety protocols as we bring students back to school 4 days a week. This plan, which was first shared with our community in July, explains how as a district we are addressing the safety protocols within the following areas; health & wellness, instruction, transportation, operations and communications. We continue to offer Latchkey after school until 5:30 Monday through Thursday at Jefferson, Lincoln and Washington. If you would like to sign your child up for this program please contact their school office.
If your child is struggling with academics, homework help is available Monday - Thursday from 5:00-7:00 pm. Contact the school office to schedule an appointment.
Through a program offered by the USDA we are now able to provide free breakfast and lunch to all students 7 days a week. In-Person students that order a school meal will receive one Grab & Go lunch Monday-Wednesday. On Thursday In-Person students that order a school meal will receive 4 lunches and 3 breakfasts. Students that are utilizing the Remote Learning option can pick up weekly meals each Wednesday from 9:00 - 10:00 am. You must call to pre-order your meals by Monday at 4:00 pm. K-8 students may pick up at Jefferson, Washington or Lincoln. High School students must pick up meals at the high school. Meals will be picked up at the cafeteria doors.

Student COVID-19 Symptoms/Exclusions
Do not send your student to school if he/she has any of these symptoms that are not caused by another condition.
Do not send your student to school if he/she has had close contact (within 6 feet of an infected person for at least 15 minutes) with a person with confirmed COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
Do not send your student to school if he/she has traveled to an area designated as Travel Warning Level 3 by the CDC within the past 14 days.
Johnston City CUSD #1 Board of Education will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at 7:00 pm at the Johnston City CUSD #1 District Office, 200 East 12th Street, Johnston City, IL. The purpose of this hearing will be to seek input from school personnel, parents, and other community members concerning the provision of the School Code allowing for eLearning days in lieu of closing schools and using an emergency day. The public will be able to participate in this hearing via Zoom by calling 1-312-626-6799 and entering Meeting ID: 872 5545 9555 and Password: 576050.

The Johnston City Sports Hall of Fame is presently seeking nominations to the Johnston City Sports Hall of Fame. Applications are available at the Johnston City CUSD #1 Unit Office located at 200 E. 12th Street, Johnston City, IL 62951, online by clicking the link below, and at Johnston City High School.
