Welcome back, Washington Middle School! I’m so excited to see each of you as we begin another great school year together. We want to welcome our new 5th-grade students and new students to the building!  This year, we have some important goals to guide us into a successful 25-26 school year:

Attendance is the key to success – being here every day helps you learn, grow, and stay connected.  We love seeing your smiling faces throughout the day.  We will be giving out various incentives for attendance goals each month.  Parents are also included in the fun this year; reaching your attendance goal can enter them into a chance to win a free raffle basket filled with useful household items.

Be a part of something – join a club, a team, or an activity where everyone belongs.  We have tons of activities for students to join.  Here at WMS, we want to celebrate everyone's abilities, strengths, hobbies, and etc. This is where you make your mark, set your own destiny, and build a legacy you want to remember.

Work hard and ask for support when needed – your teachers and staff are here to help you every step of the way. If you have a question about material or need extra support, we will be offering after-school tutoring Monday through Thursday beginning on September 3. Hard work pays off in the end!

Have fun and build positive relationships – middle school is a time to make memories and lasting friendships.  Make sure to be a leader for others to follow.  Always have a positive attitude, learn from your mistakes, and be a problem solver!

Explore careers and learning – try new things, set goals for your future, and discover what excites you. This year during exploratory, all students will have the opportunity to explore hobbies, interests, and careers by taking trips, listening to guest speakers, and setting future goals for themselves beyond middle school.

Together, we’re going to make this school year one full of learning, growth, and fun. Let’s support each other, stay positive, and make this the best year yet!  Everyone is someone at WMS, You Belong Here!
