📚✏️ It's a BIG week for our 7th and 8th graders. 📚✏️ Those students are taking the Illinois Assessment of Readiness, which focuses on English-Language Arts and Mathematics. This testing measures not just what students know but also what they can do with what they know, as well as their growth over time. We hope our 7th and 8th graders get plenty of rest each night and come into the classroom for this assessment feeling refreshed and ready to go!

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time to raise awareness and show support for the safety and well-being of children in our community. To stand together in this important cause, we are encouraging all WMS students and staff to wear blue on April 4th as a symbol of solidarity and support for preventing child abuse. By wearing blue, we help spread awareness of this crucial issue and send a powerful message that we care about the protection of children everywhere. #GreatChildhoods #GoBlueIllinois

The Johnston City Middle School and High School Student Council participated in this year's Polar Plunge. The Illinois Law Enforcement Torch Run Polar Plunge is a unique opportunity to support Special Olympics athletes by taking icy dips into a pool full of water. Our students raised more than $2000 for the Special Olympics. We want to say thank you to everyone who donated and to the Student Council for taking the plunge! These photos show our middle school students bravely jumping into the cold waters! BURR!
