Way to go, Emma! 👏👏

March is Music in our Schools month 🎵🎵 A time of year to raise awareness about the importance of music education for all children, and the educators who are in the classroom teaching students the fundamentals of music and how to build on them.
Today, we're highlighting Mr. Smith, who has a deep passion for music education and years of experience as a band director. He brings music, inspiration, and a whole lot of rhythm to Washington Middle School and Johnston City High School.

After studying and in-class preparation, our Sophomore students are taking the Pre-ACT tomorrow, March 19th.
Here are some tips for test taking:
▪️ Get plenty of rest the night before
▪️ Eat a balanced meal beforehand
▪️ Read the instructions carefully
▪️ Double check your answers
▪️ Maintain a positive attitude
The make-up date is Thursday, March 20th.

It's the first away game of the season for the JCHS Baseball team.
They're up against the Carrier Mills-Stonefort Wildcats. The first pitch is at 4:30 p.m.

We had a special visit from John A. Logan College representatives helping current Sophomore and Junior students with dual enrollment for next semester.
JALC Reps Jenny Ditch (blue hoodie) and Abby Porter (black sweater) were on-hand to answer any questions and guide students as they selected their college classes.
We're proud of these students for getting a head start on their college journey while still in high school.

Our Sophomore students are taking the Pre-ACT on Wednesday, March 19th.
This testing provides a predicted ACT test score, and helps students get the start they need to be ready for college.
Here are some of our Sophomore students taking part in Pre-ACT preparations!

Some members of our JCHS Baseball team volunteered their time this Spring Break.
The Johnston City Little League (JCJBL) had a shipment of field conditioner delivered to the park, but no way to unload it.
The baseball team sent a few players over, who carried the bags off the truck and put them away.
Washington Middle School Teacher and JCJBL President, Jaimi Kerley, is thankful for the helping hands!

Time to play ball! ⚾️🥎
