Congratulations to Jasmine Fuller on being awarded Indian of the Week! Here is what Mrs. Bright had to say - "Jasmine has shown all of the positive qualities of a Johnston City Indian. She has shown amazing responsibility by managing classroom assignments and keeping track of FFA activities. Jasmine is always respectful and honest, in and outside of class. I am looking forward to watching her grow and develop her personal, leadership, and team building skills this year!" Way to go, Jasmine!

Congratulations to James Lockwood on being awarded Indian of the Week!

Here is what Mrs. Borger had to say - "I've chosen James for the student qualities of courage, citizenship, and generosity. James has a centered sense of self and is not one to conform or follow the crowd - a challenge for many adolescents. Additionally, James is thoughtful in seminar and group work - often waiting and sharing space with peers, listening thoughtfully before participating in seminar. He offers deep insights on texts / topics we're covering in class and isn't afraid of making some mistakes in order to grow and learn."

Congratulations to the first Indians of the week for the 2026-27 school year!

Here is what Mrs. Ashmore had to say - "There isn't enough room to write all of the reasons that these Indians deserve recognition and appreciation. We can choose our future Indians of the Week because of the support and dedication of these individuals. Without them, our jobs would be tremendously more difficult. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO: SEEN AND UNSEEN."

Little Indians Boys & Girls Basketball League is Back! 🏀

Registration is officially opening for students in Kindergarten through 6th Grade!

The season runs from September through mid-December (wrapping up right before Christmas). We understand that several players participate in fall sports; please note that fall sports take priority over this league until those seasons conclude.

Season Details:

  • Practices: Held weekday evenings between 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM (20+ practices anticipated throughout the season).

  • Games: 20+ games across multiple local leagues.

  • Locations: Games will be held in Johnston City gyms, as well as West Frankfort and Harrisburg (hosted by the Harrisburg Youth League).

  • Halftime Showcase: Youth teams will get to showcase their skills during halftime at every home High School Boys Basketball game (2–4 teams per night)!

Following the rec season, players can also look forward to Travel Tribe opportunities.
