Johnston City High School held its 2025 National Honor Society Inductee ceremony last night. A special time for new and returning NHS students and their families.
These high school students are required to demonstrate the following NHS requirements:
Scholarship: Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above on a 4.0 scale
Service: 10 hours of in-school service and 10 hours out of school service
Leadership: Students leaders are those who are resourceful, good problem solvers, and idea contributors
Character: The student of good character is cooperative; demonstrates high standards of honesty and reliability; shows courtesy, concern, and respect for others.


JCHS Med Lab students stopped by Lincoln Elementary school yesterday teaching 3rd and 4th kids the life-saving technique of Hands-Only CPR.
The high schoolers did an incredible job breaking down the process into easy-to-follow steps, ensuring that everyone understood the importance of staying calm and acting quickly in an emergency. 🚑

High School Art Teacher Melissa Fiedler is sharing more pictures of the High School Art Club at Jefferson Elementary.
During the recent visit, students were able to work together on creative projects focused on endangered and extinct animals!
The elementary kids were so enthusiastic and came up with some fantastic ideas.





Today is ALL about our Scholar Bowl team. They're competing in the Masonic Sectionals at the Carterville High School.
Last month, they were BDC Champions for the 4th year in a row!! We can't wait to see what they accomplish at sectionals!

School bus drivers Patricia Mueller and Tonnie Nordmeyer have nearly 50 years of combined service to the Johnston City School District.
They get up dark and early each school week because they love the families on their route and making sure students get to school safely.
