It's the final day for this year's Arrowhead Classic tournament. It's a great time for spectators,
parents, coaches and players!
The first basketball game is Eldorado vs. Christopher at 1 p.m. Then, Anna-Jonesboro vs. Johnston City at 2:30 p.m.

The high school has early dismissal today at 11:30 a.m. for parent-teacher conferences, which take place from 12:30 - 3 p.m.
Night 3 of the Arrowhead Classic is now over, and we're more than halfway through the tournament. Here are the scores from yesterday:
Game 5: Anna-Jonesboro over Eldorado 54-43

Freshmen Wrestlers are away this evening competing in the Freshmen Friday Night Tournament at the Anna-Jonesboro High School.
The tournament starts at 5 p.m. #rolltribe

Students were able to get a free donut this morning after taking the Full-Service Community School survey.
FSCS High School Coordinator Heather Miller and FSCS Middle School Coordinator Ronda Koch were all smiles handing out the tasty treats!
This morning, the Johnston City High School Art Club stopped by Lincoln Elementary School.
They gave an art lesson to students, who really enjoyed the visit and making a colorful project!
Each lesson fits with the theme of this year's art show, which is "Welcome To the Jungle" focusing on endangered and extinct animals.

Last night marked day two of the Arrowhead Classic tournament. It was an exciting night out on the basketball court with some close games.
Game 3: Anna-Jonesboro over Christopher 59-58
Game 4: DuQuoin over Johnston City 52-48







Tonight we have a scheduled break for our Arrowhead Classic tournament. Basketball will resume tomorrow.
First up is Anna-Jonesboro versus Eldorado at 6 p.m. Then, Christopher takes on DuQuoin at 7:30 p.m.

The Johnston City School District recognizes longtime volunteer Roy Rogers for his dedication to athletics.
For 38 years, Rogers helped to videotape basketball games, football games, and Homecoming Activities.
In May, Rogers will be inducted into the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association's Hall of Fame.

Night one of this year's Arrowhead Classic is now in the books.
On Monday, Banterra Bank Starla Waters presented a check for $3,500 to Lindsey Bush, Athletic Director.
The Southern Illinois Coaches Association and Officials presented a check for $700 to High School Principal Kristi Schell to be given as a scholarship to one of our students.
Blondie’s Bakery provided food for the hospitality room.
DuQuoin beat Anna-Jonesboro in game 1, and Eldorado beat Johnston City in game 2.




The Johnston City School District will recognize long-time volunteer Roy Rogers for a major accomplishment at tonight's Arrowhead Classic tournament before the 7:30 game.
In the spring, the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association will award Rogers the Friend of Basketball accolade putting him into the organization’s 2025 Hall of Fame.
For 38 years, Rogers dedicated his time to videotaping basketball games, football games, and Homecoming activities.

The Johnston City High School is closed today in observance of Martin Luther King Junior Day.

Although there's no school today, our Varsity wrestlers had an early start to their Monday.
They're taking part in the Carmi Varsity Invite, which started at 9 this morning.

We're just an hour away from tip-off and hope to see you there!
Our Freshmen on the Boys Basketball team are away playing the Galatia Bearcats!

It's an early start to the day. We hope our JV Wrestling Team got some good sleep last night.
The team is on the road again! This time, it's the Carmi JV Invite starting at 9 this morning!

Our Scholar Bowl Team is taking part in the Piasa Bird Invitational today.
The competition started bright and early at 8 this morning! Our students are so dedicated to their team and always giving their best.
We're rounding out the week with another home game for the JV and Varsity Boys Basketball teams.
They'll compete against the Trico Pioneers. Tip-off is 6 p.m. tonight.

FFA Officers visited the middle school today to give a presentation to the 8th graders.
They talked about agriculture related classes offered at the high school and everything the JC FFA Chapter has to offer.
