Washington Middle School is excited to announce the launch of our new Mobile Food Pantry through our Full-Service Community Schools grant! We're kicking off our first distribution event, Monday, June 2nd from 4-6 p.m. at the City Hall Pavilion (118 East Broadway Boulevard). This new mobile food pantry allows us to provide produce, dairy, bread, canned goods and deli meats to our families and community members. Hygiene products will also be available like shampoo/conditioner, body wash, wipes, baby powder, and other toiletries. It's a free service that will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. To conveniently reach all corners of our community, the mobile food pantry will be held at different locations. You can find the June schedule below, and we'll provide reminders on the Washington Middle School's Facebook page. We do ask individuals to bring a student or government-issued I.D. to verify they attend Johnston City Schools or live in the school district. Right now, Washington Middle School is looking for businesses/individuals who are willing to donate food/hygiene items. Some of our JCHS students put their artistic skills to work by creating and installing a beautiful landscape design at the Greenhouse today! Using plants generously donated to the school last semester, these four students planned and executed the entire project on their own! They did a FANTASTIC job, and we want to say thank you again for the donations that made this project possible!
