We're saddened to learn that one of our students lost their home and belongings in a fire last night.
The community is starting to rally around the family and show their support.
If you would like to help, a GoFundMe is now set up by the family: https://gofund.me/ff32919e
Bus Driver Tonnie Nordmeyer has dedicated 20 years of service to the Johnston City School District.
"It’s just something that puts a smile on my face and love in my heart," she says.
February is Love the Bus month. A time to recognize bus drivers who dedicate their time to
reliable, safe transportation.
We appreciate Tonnie and all of our bus drivers, please be sure to give them a THANK YOU!

*The district is closely monitoring an evolving winter weather system that is expected to arrive this weekend. In the event an e-learning day(s) is utilized, your child's teacher will be in contact with you via email or ClassDojo.
*Jefferson will be open today until 5:00 pm for any student who does not have access to email or ClassDojo to pick up an e-learning packet. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
*Packets are available on the Southwest side of the school. This is our current student entrance and exit. We have placed the packets in storage tubs that are sitting outside the glass doors. We have a tub labeled for each grade level.
The Amazon Return Day Giveaway, sponsored by 4 Good Community, was a huge success. We are thankful that we were able to provide this opportunity to our Kindergarten - 8th Grade students.
Due to the amount of items we received we are able to open the event up to community members today from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Community members are asked to park in the “horseshoe” by the Scout Cabin and enter the east side gym doors at 3:30 p.m.
