✏️📚 We've made it to the last day of school! ✏️📚
This school year has been filled with lots of learning and memories! We hope you enjoyed it just as much as we did. Have a wonderful (and safe) summer break!
We will see you back for the first day of the 2025-2026 school year on Tuesday, August 12th, for a half day with all schools dismissing at 11:30 a.m.

Students might be getting a break for our Memorial Day holiday, but they were busy last week with end-of-the-year activities.
Our 3rd and 4th grade students at Lincoln Elementary enjoyed extra STEM time with Mr. Carver last week. These students were able to use Knex to make objects along with the 3D pens! We think STEM rules!

🇺🇸 We have no school today, Monday, May 26th, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday. 🇺🇸
All schools will be back in attendance tomorrow, Tuesday, May 27th, for the last day of classes. This will be an early dismissal day.
Elementary and middle schools will dismiss at 1:50 p.m. JCHS will dismiss at 2:00 p.m.

Second-grade teacher Ms. Jennings is retiring after working for Johnston City Schools and attending them from kindergarten through high school.
Her teaching career recently had a full-circle moment. Ms. Jennings gave her final lesson in the same classroom where she once sat as a kindergartner on her first day of school.
Thank you, Ms. Jennings, for your years of dedication to our students!

There could only be ONE student winner in the fierce competition of Rock, Paper, Scissors at Lincoln Elementary School.
Congratulations to Kynzlee for being named as this year's 4th grade GRAND CHAMPION!
This annual competition is so much fun, even the teachers wanted in on the action. Mrs. Fort and Ms. Devine won the teacher playoff!

Our Superintendent Kathy Clark has been named the 2025 Superintendent of Distinction by her colleagues in the Shawnee Region of the Illinois Association of School Administrators (IASA).
"Being recognized by my peers is a great honor, but it truly reflects the passion, resilience, and commitment of the entire Johnston City CUSD 1 team."
