Dental Safari will be at Washington Middle School on Friday, February 7. Forms are going home this week with your student. You may also register online at www.DentalSafariForms.com. If your student is in 6th grade, this exam will fulfill the State of Illinois requirement for a dental exam. If you have any questions, please contact the office.

It's a big day for our Girls Basketball Team!! They're taking part in the Herrin Regionals tonight at 5 p.m.
 We can't wait to see our lady Indians take the court and show off their skills!

Our Scholar Bowl team is at home today with a match-up against Harrisburg's New Hope Christian Academy.

The Boys Basketball team is away tonight at Unity Point with tip-off at 6 p.m. 

WMS Girls volleyball tryouts are coming up!! Open gym will be Tuesday (1/14) from 5-6pm and Wednesday (1/15) from 3-4pm.  Tryouts are TENTATIVELY scheduled for Thursday (1/16) for 6th grade and Friday (1/17) for 7th and 8th grade. Any student trying out will need a physical and insurance waiver on file.
Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025. Please check your email for a link to the Parent/Teacher Conference request form, if you'd like to schedule a conference with your child's teacher. Please call the WMS office if you have any questions.

It's also 8th Grade Night for boys basketball, cheerleaders, dance, flags, band and scholar bowl! 

Our Girls Basketball team is traveling to West Frankfort today. They'll take on the Redbirds. Let's wish them luck while the team is away! 

The girls basketball game at Sesser-Valier has been canceled for Saturday, January 11. Boys and girls basketball practices are canceled for today, 1/10/25.
Due to weather, all games and practices will be cancelled for Tuesday, January 7 and Wednesday, January 8.  Stay warm!
Johnston City CUSD #1 will be implementing an e-learning day on Monday, January 6, 2025, due to inclement weather. Make sure to check Google Classrooms for assignments and other important updates. Teachers will be available from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. to assist students if needed. Stay warm and safe!

Johnston City schools will be closed and using an e-learning day tomorrow, Monday, January 6th due to inclement weather.

The district is closely monitoring an evolving winter weather system that is expected to arrive this weekend. As a precaution, Washington Middle School will be open today until 5:00 pm for any student who would like to retrieve their Chromebook or other materials if an e-learning day is needed. Additional information will be shared as it becomes available.
