It's National School Nurse Day, recognizing and thanking school nurses for their crucial role in supporting the health and well-being of students. Here at the Johnston City School District were are fortunate to have two AMAZING nurses.
Mary Johanson is a Registered Nurse, and she's been looking over our students for nearly two decades. Her 20th anniversary will be September 2025!
Tara Burton is a Licensed Practical Nurse, who was hired during the pandemic. She's stationed at Washington Middle School and has two children attending Johnston City Schools.
🎶 Our Lincoln students spent some time at Washington Middle School today for a preview of the Spring Concert. Students were able to listen to the choir sing and the band play. 🎶
We're looking forward to a great concert! Remember, performance is tonight at Johnson City High School starting at 7:30 p.m.

🎶🌸 We're so excited for our Spring Concert 🎶🌸
Our student-musicians have been practicing for months and are ready to put on a show for parents and the community, from elementary students on the recorder to our middle school and high school band and choir! These musicians will have you tapping your foot and wanting to sing along!
The performance is taking place tomorrow at the JCHS gymnasium starting at 7:30 p.m.

A great day outdoors and soaking up the sunshine!
Our 3rd and 4th grade students participated in the mile run at the JCHS track. All students completed the mile, and we're super proud of them and their efforts today. We definitely see some students participating in track in the near future. Great Job, Lincoln students!!

A friendly reminder to parents/guardians,
All students participating in a WMS or JCHS sport for the 2025-26 school year MUST have a
yearly sports physical.
This is a great opportunity to cross that off your back-to-school checklist, and help support several of our school groups.
Here's a link to the IHSA Physical form: https://bit.ly/3XIrjTd
You can find print copies in the office at Lincoln Elementary, Washington Middle School, and Johnston City High School.

📚✨ Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! 🍎✏️
This week, we celebrate the incredible educators who shape minds, inspire dreams, and make a lasting impact every single day. 👩🏫👨🏫
To every teacher who's stayed late to help a student, brought learning to life, or offered a listening ear when it mattered most — THANK YOU. Your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed.
We appreciate all of our teachers at Lincoln Elementary!

Parents and Guardians,
This week we sent home flyers for tryouts for the middle school dance team. If you child is planning on trying out, they MUST have a sports physical on file before they are allowed to tryout.
We are hosting a sports physical clinic at JCHS on May 8th. This would be a great time for the students to go ahead and get that done and the sports physical will be good for their whole 5th grade year.
We have forms that parents must fill out and sign for the students to go to the high school for the sports physical and the cost is only $10.00. We will bus them to the high school that day.

It's a BEAUTIFUL Spring day! We're seeing some sunshine, the birds are chirping, and the temperatures are starting to warm up 🌞🐦
At Lincoln Elementary, our students along with our parent mentors spent some valuable time outside on Tuesday for Earth Day. 🌎🌏 They participated in fun activities like creating DIY reusable bags, planting seeds, and an environmentally friendly science experiment making Oobleck.
Our kiddos went home with a flyer sharing “art from trash” craft project ideas as well as a list of ways that kids can reduce, reuse, and recycle.

Mark your calendars now!
Does busting out your dance moves "pique" your interest? We're looking for student-athletes who have school spirit, rhythm, and a love for performing! 🎶💃
